The Department of Health (DOH) has placed its hospitals and health facilities in the CALABARZON region under Code White Alert until Sunday, October 27.
Code White Alert ensures that medical personnel are prepared to provide necessary health services during emergencies.
According to DOH Assistant Secretary Ariel Valencia, all provinces in CALABARZON are urged to raise their alert levels in response to potential effects from Typhoon Kristine, based on conditions in their respective areas.
The DOH also reminded the public to use the Telekonsulta hotline for medical consultations and guidance on dealing with possible exposure to floodwaters, contaminated water, or storm-related health issues.
Residents experiencing symptoms after being exposed to rain or floodwater should immediately consult the nearest health facility for proper medication.
Meanwhile, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) assured that preparedness measures are already in place for areas affected by Typhoon Kristine.
DSWD Assistant Secretary and Disaster Response Management Group Head Irene Dumlao has directed regional directors in affected areas to prepare for the distribution of relief assistance to impacted residents.
