The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) is currently arranging the repatriation of 223 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) from Israel amid escalating regional conflict.
DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac announced that preparations are underway for the first batch of 30 Filipinos to return to the Philippines.
This initial group includes 26 OFWs who crossed from Israel into Jordan via the Allenby and King Hussein bridges on Sunday.
They are set to fly home on Tuesday, accompanied by three other Filipinos from Jordan and one from the West Bank.
Cacdac assured the public that the returning OFWs will receive comprehensive assistance from the government.
Each repatriate will be provided with ₱150,000 in financial aid, TESDA training vouchers, allowances, psychosocial counseling, and medical check-ups upon arrival.
Israel and Iran remain under Alert Level 3 due to ongoing hostilities, heightening risks for Filipinos in the area.
In light of the conflict, authorities are urging Filipinos in Israel to consider repatriation as a preventive measure.
