Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo arrived at the Senate under tight police security around 8:00 AM on Monday. According to the Philippine National Police (PNP), Guo was handcuffed and wearing a bulletproof vest as a safety precaution.

PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo stated that Guo was transported in a PNP coaster, escorted by several other vehicles.

The Senate’s request for Guo to attend the hearing had been approved earlier by a Tarlac court.

The Capas, Tarlac Regional Trial Court previously issued a warrant for her arrest after the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) filed a graft case, which was acted upon by the Office of the Ombudsman.

Since being placed in police custody, Guo has been held in the same detention facility that previously housed former senator Leila de Lima.
