Former Senator Leila De Lima has challenged ex-presidential spokesperson Harry Roque to surrender to authorities amid the arrest order issued by the House of Representatives.
De Lima made the call after filing the Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance (CONA) for the Mamamayang Liberal party-list, where she is the first nominee.
She emphasized that despite fabricated cases against her, she still faced the law.
De Lima added that she went through the entire legal process, though it was painful for her.
She stated that if Roque had nothing to hide, he should confront the allegations against him.
Roque previously told De Lima, “May you spend the rest of your life in jail.”
Recently, Roque was held in contempt by the House quad committee and ordered to be detained in the House for a second time.
The second contempt order stemmed from Roque’s repeated refusal to comply with a House subpoena.
The subpoena demanded the submission of his statement of assets, liabilities, and net worth from 2016 to 2022.
Additionally, Roque was asked to submit his wife Maila’s income tax returns from 2014 to 2022.
The subpoena also requested the medical certificates, extrajudicial settlement of the estate, and tax returns of Roque’s late aunt.
Lastly, Roque was instructed to submit the deed of sale, tax returns, and property transfer documents for a 1.8-hectare estate in Multinational Village, Parañaque, sold by his family.
