The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) is exploring the possibility of conducting voter registration at night to encourage more Filipinos to register for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) on December 1.

COMELEC Chairman George Erwin Garcia stated that this initiative is part of the expansion of the Register Anywhere Program (RAP), scheduled to take place from July 1 to 11.

The poll body aims to implement the enhanced RAP in locations that operate at night, such as airports, seaports, and workplaces, to accommodate more registrants.

COMELEC anticipates that extending registration hours will help achieve its target of one million new registered voters during the 11-day period.

In addition to new registrants, the commission will also accept applications for reactivation, transfer of registration, and other related services from July 1 to 11.
