Classes Suspended in Catanduanes as Typhoon Enteng Intensifies

LEGAZPI CITY—Classes have been suspended across various towns in Catanduanes today, September 2, 2024, as Typhoon Enteng intensifies, bringing heavy rains and strong winds to the region.

The towns of Baras, Bagamanoc, Gigmoto, and Virac have all announced the suspension of classes at all levels in both public and private schools.

Additionally, classes have been canceled in the towns of Pandan, Viga, Bato, Panganiban, San Miguel, and San Andres.

Typhoon Enteng has recently strengthened, with maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts reaching up to 105 kilometers per hour.

The storm continues to move southward, causing widespread rainfall across Catanduanes and nearby provinces.

Authorities have issued warnings to the public, urging those in landslide and flood-prone areas to exercise caution and remain vigilant. PAGASA has also raised Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 in several areas, indicating the potential for hazardous weather conditions.
