A barangay official in Baquioen, Sual, Pangasinan has refuted claims that Alisel Aqua Farm, a business connected to Sheila Guo, a figure linked to the former mayor Alice Guo, exists within their jurisdiction.

The name “Alisel” is believed to be a combination of the first names of Alice Guo and Sual Mayor Liseldo “Dong” Calugay, as suggested by Senator Sherwin Gatchalian.

However, in an interview with Bombo Radyo Dagupan, a barangay official, who requested anonymity, stated that there is no record of an active business operating under the name Alisel Aqua Farm within their barangay.

The official explained that while there was a pending application for the establishment of such a farm in 2022, the necessary follow-through to secure the required permits and start operations has not been completed.

The barangay’s role is limited to endorsing business names, but the final decision to grant permits rests with the local government.

The official emphasized that the barangay would be aware of any operational aquaculture farm within their jurisdiction as it would require regular renewals of permits and licenses.

The absence of any such records for Alisel Aqua Farm supports the claim that the business is non-existent.
