Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo has been transferred to the custody of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), but her camp is still appealing for her return to the Philippine National Police (PNP) custody for security reasons.

Earlier reports stated that the Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 167 recognized the motion filed by Guo’s legal counsel, Atty. Nicole Jamilla, requesting that the former mayor remain under PNP custody.

The court also issued a temporary order to delay her transfer to the Pasig City Jail.

BJMP spokesperson JSupt. Jayrex Bustinera confirmed that they received the court’s order.

However, since Guo had already been transferred to Pasig at 9 a.m. and there was no official order to return her to Camp Crame, Guo remains in the Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory.

This afternoon, the court declared the earlier motion by Guo’s camp moot, officially invalidating the previous order that stopped her transfer to Pasig.

“Since the transfer was already completed, the previous order stopping it is considered moot,” said Bustinera.

According to Atty. Jamilla, Guo’s legal team is concerned about her safety and insists that she stay in PNP custody despite BJMP’s assurance that a risk assessment has been conducted, and her fellow detainees’ profiles have been evaluated.

Additionally, Guo’s camp cited concerns about her health, noting that she had been suffering from cough, fever, and lack of sleep, which led to weight loss.

It was earlier reported that Guo showed signs of a lung infection.

BJMP immediately isolated her and conducted a sputum test. By 3 p.m., test results confirmed that Guo was negative for tuberculosis, allowing her to be placed with 43 other inmates in a regular cell.

BJMP assured that inmates receive proper vitamins and medications to prevent illness and disease transmission.
