Atty. Stephen David has confirmed that his client, dismissed Bamban mayor Alice Guo, will attend the Senate hearing on Monday, September 9.

David stated that Guo cannot refuse the investigation led by the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality, chaired by Senator Risa Hontiveros.

According to David, the Philippine National Police will escort the suspended mayor to the Senate, regardless of her willingness to attend.

It can be recalled that on Friday, the Regional Trial Court Branch 109 in Capas, Tarlac, approved Hontiveros’ request to have Guo present during the Senate committee’s investigation into POGO operations.

Guo is currently detained after failing to post bail for a case related to violations of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.
