Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo has been granted bail for two graft cases by the Valenzuela Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 282.

During a hearing presided over by Judge Elena Amigo Amano, Guo’s lawyer, Atty. Stephen David, initially sought a status quo to keep Guo in the custody of the Philippine National Police (PNP), citing her high-profile status.

The court acknowledged a request from the House of Representatives to assume custody of Guo due to a Contempt Order against her.

However, this matter will be discussed further on Monday, when the court will decide if Guo will be transferred to the Valenzuela Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).

Given the situation, Atty. David filed a motion for Guo to post bail instead.

Judge Amano approved the request, but the Ombudsman’s prosecution team pushed to triple the original bail amount, arguing that Guo is a high-risk detainee.

As a result, the bail was raised from ₱90,000 to ₱540,000 for each graft case.

Despite posting bail for her graft charges, Guo remains in custody due to a separate case of Qualified Human Trafficking in the Pasig RTC.
