She further expressed concern, saying, “If we do not address this as an institution and as a country, it would appear that we have allowed a foreigner to repeatedly disregard our laws, policies, and processes.”

Earlier, Senator Sherwin Gatchalian suggested that aside from the usual means, Guo might have used alternative ways to exit the country.

It can be recalled that the National Bureau of Investigation confirmed that Guo, also a Chinese passport holder under the name Guo Huang Ping, is the same individual. Gatchalian previously revealed that Guo used both her Chinese and Philippine passports between 2008 and 2011.

Alice Guo, also known as Guo Hua Ping, is a former mayor of Bamban, Tarlac. She has been a controversial figure in local politics, particularly due to her dual citizenship and the legal implications surrounding her use of both Chinese and Philippine passports.

Her case has raised significant concerns about the enforcement of immigration laws and the potential exploitation of legal loopholes by foreign nationals holding public office in the Philippines.
