Adivay Festival Draws Crowds in Benguet as Agri-Tourism Fair Opens

Visitors and locals continue to flock to Wangal, La Trinidad, Benguet, following the opening of the Agri-Tourism Fair as part of the 124th Adivay Festival.

The fair features vibrant and colorful agri-tourism booths set up by Benguet’s 13 municipalities.

Each booth showcases various local products, such as highland vegetables from Buguias, tilapia from Bokod, flowers from La Trinidad, fruits from Sablan, and handicrafts from Bakun, all sold at affordable prices.

An even larger crowd is expected on Saturday, November 23, for the festival’s highlights, including the grand parade showcasing Benguet’s traditional dances and the grand caƱao, where pigs will be slaughtered and shared by attendees.

The Adivay Festival, which began on November 6, will run until December 9.

This year’s theme is “Embracing Our Heritage, Co-Creating a Healthier Benguet.”

Meanwhile, the National Irrigation Administration – Cordillera announced that over a thousand rice bags will be sold to marginalized sectors on November 23.

The agency emphasized that priority will be given to individuals from marginalized communities.
