The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has recovered 20 more sacks of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, in the waters of Pangasinan.
Previously, the PCG seized sacks of suspected shabu worth PHP 1.17 billion in the same area last week.
With this latest discovery, authorities have now confiscated a total of 28 sacks of illegal drugs in Pangasinan.
According to the Coast Guard District Northwestern Luzon, the suspected shabu was found through the combined efforts of Coast Guard maritime patrols and local fishermen, who turned over the contraband to authorities.
Following the recovery, the PCG has intensified coastal security patrols and community engagement initiatives to prevent further illegal drug activities.
Authorities are currently investigating the source and intended recipients of the seized shabu.
