ABC President and Bodyguards Killed in an Ambush

ABC President Mark Adrian “Macky” Barba and two bodyguards were fatally shot in Brgy. 22, San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte.

The bodyguards were identified as 26-year-old Lord Wayne Bautista Menor of Brgy. 12 San Cayetano and 39-year-old Raffy Agraan Ulep of Brgy. 6 San Juan Bautista, both from San Nicolas.

According to the San Nicolas Municipal Police Station, the victims were traveling northbound in a gray Toyota Innova driven by Menor when they were suddenly ambushed.

The driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to collide with a parked Toyota Fortuner.

The victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds to their bodies, including their heads.

Both Barba and Ulep were declared dead on arrival, while Menor succumbed to his injuries while being treated at the hospital.

San Nicolas Mayor Mike Hernando, a relative of Barba, expressed grief over the tragic incident.

Authorities recovered over 40 bullet casings from the crime scene.
