THE Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) affirmed Thursday, Nov. 27, its commitment to improving service delivery after being listed among the top 10 most complained-about national government agencies by the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA).
“In our daily operations, the hardworking men and women of the Department, including frontliners, strive to provide the best possible service to our kababayans within the limits of available resources,” the DFA said in a statement.
The department also highlighted its consistent efforts to address public concerns, noting a high complaint resolution rate compared to other government agencies.
The DFA provides an average of five million frontline consular services each year through its Office of Consular Affairs in Manila, 42 Consular Offices nationwide, and 98 Foreign Service Posts abroad.
“As an agency delivering frontline services, we acknowledge and respond to client concerns through our established feedback mechanism,” the department added.
According to the ARTA report, the DFA ranked eighth among the most complained-about national government agencies.
Leading the list were the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Land Transportation Office (LTO), the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), the Land Registration Authority (LRA), the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD). The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Bureau of Customs (BOC) placed ninth and tenth, respectively.
