The Anti-Terrorism Council (ATC) expressed strong approval of the Timor-Leste government’s decision to allow the deportation of former Negros Oriental Representative Arnie Teves back to the Philippines.

In an official statement, the council described the move as a significant development in the country’s ongoing campaign against terrorism, impunity, and politically motivated violence.

The ATC also commended East Timor for recognizing the gravity of the charges against Teves and the potential impact of the case on regional stability.

According to the council, Timor-Leste’s decision reflects the spirit of international cooperation and ASEAN unity in upholding the rule of law.

The ATC reiterated its commitment to holding accountable those who pose threats to peace, order, and democracy, affirming that terrorism has no place in the administration’s vision of a “Bagong Pilipinas.”

Previously, the ATC designated Arnie Teves and 12 others as terrorists for their alleged involvement in a string of killings and violent incidents in Negros Oriental.
