Vice President Sara Duterte’s camp has confirmed the official receipt of an order from the Quezon City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 98, which upholds the dismissal of their motion for inhibition against the presiding judge handling the case.
This order is connected to three separate complaints of grave threats filed against the Vice President, which originated from her public statements made against several high-ranking officials of the country.
These officials specifically include President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Marcos, and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
According to the Vice President’s lawyer, Atty. Paul Lawrence Lim, their side will utilize all available legal remedies while continuously complying with the court’s order regarding the sub judice rule.
Under this rule, both parties are strictly prohibited from publicly discussing or addressing the merits of the pending case in the media, in deference to the rule of law.
