Vince Dizon Sworn In as Transportation Secretary, Vows to Fast-Track Key Projects

Newly appointed Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon was sworn in today before President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. at Malacañang Palace.

The President emphasized the need to expedite transport system projects to alleviate the daily struggles of commuters traveling to work.

Dizon stated that Marcos has directed the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to push for Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) to enhance infrastructure development.

Among the administration’s priorities is the acceleration of the Metro Manila Subway Project, which is considered a game changer, along with the North-South Commuter Railway, airports, and seaports.

In a media briefing, Dizon highlighted the importance of strengthening the EDSA Busway system, which has significantly eased the burden on commuters.

He clarified that he is not in favor of removing the EDSA Bus Carousel and instead aims to improve its services further.

However, Dizon also expressed support for the privatization of the EDSA Busway to enhance efficiency and service quality.
