A senior aquaculturist from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) was killed in a shooting incident on Saturday in Panabo City, Davao del Norte, police reported on Monday.
According to the Panabo City Police, the 42-year-old victim, affiliated with BFAR’s National Mariculture Center, was inside her parked vehicle near a fisheries company when a man wearing a black jacket approached and shot her in the head.

The suspect fled on foot toward Barangay Cagangohan, prompting a hot pursuit operation by authorities. Investigators recovered two empty 9 mm shell casings and two deformed slugs from the crime scene.
The police are still working to identify the suspect and determine the motive behind the attack.
