Speaker Romualdez Reaffirms House’s Commitment to Fighting Corruption

House Speaker Martin Romualdez has reaffirmed the House of Representatives’ commitment to combating corruption.

This was emphasized by Romualdez during the 5th State Conference on the United Nations Convention Against Corruption held at Malacañang.

Romualdez’s speech was read by Manila Representative and House Blue Ribbon Committee Chairman Joel Chua, who represented the Speaker at the event.

The Speaker assured that the House would remain steadfast in its role as the guardian of the national treasury and the steward of the public’s trust.

He highlighted that the ongoing hearings in the House demonstrate a firm determination to uphold accountability and transparency.

Romualdez stated that these investigations are not just a show of legislative power but a reinforcement of responsibility to the Filipino people.

He emphasized that these actions represent a commitment to fiscal accountability and good governance, as every peso in the national budget is the hard-earned contribution of millions of Filipinos.

The Speaker reiterated that public funds are not for the personal gain of a few but for the welfare of the people.
