4-Year-Old Boy Hacked to Death by Neighbor Over Fishpond Dispute

A 4-year-old boy was killed after being hacked to death by his neighbor in Barangay Little Pautao, Bacuag, Surigao del Norte on October 8.

The victim, identified as “Aldrian,” was allegedly attacked by 42-year-old “Merlito,” the suspect.

According to police investigations, the child was playing with friends when the suspect suddenly arrived, armed, and unexpectedly attacked the boy, striking his head, face, and hands, resulting in his immediate death.

The suspect was reportedly enraged after the death of his fish in the fishpond, which he blamed on the child.

Following the incident, the suspect fled, prompting police to launch a hot pursuit operation.

The suspect now faces murder charges, while the victim’s mother is determined to pursue legal action to seek justice for her son and their grieving family.
