15-year Old Rider Dies After Collision With Van and Truck

A teenage motorcyclist was declared dead on arrival after colliding with two vehicles in Barangay Suso, Sta. Maria, Ilocos Sur.

The rider, a 15-year-old resident of Cabaroan, Sta. Maria, was driving a Yamaha Aerox motorcycle at the time of the accident.

The white Foton Traveller van was driven by 47-year-old Renante Batinggal Bolanio from Fairview, Quezon City.

Meanwhile, the HOWO 16-wheeler truck was driven by 39-year-old Charles Butangen Camil, a company driver from Baguio City, Benguet.

Both the van and the motorcycle were traveling northbound when the motorcyclist attempted to overtake on the left side of the road, colliding head-on with the van.

As a result, the motorcyclist lost control of the handlebars and crashed into a parked truck on the left shoulder lane.

The young rider sustained a fatal head injury and was rushed to the hospital but did not survive.

Neither the van’s driver, its passengers, nor the truck driver sustained any injuries.

The vehicles involved are now under the custody of the Sta. Maria Police Station for further investigation.
