MANILA, Philippines — Flooding persists in 132 areas across three regions as heavy rains from Typhoon Uwan (international name: Fung-Wong) continue to impact communities, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported Monday morning.

In its 6 a.m. situational update, the agency said the Bicol Region remains the most affected with 125 flooded areas, followed by Western Visayas with five and Northern Mindanao with two.

Damage assessments show 1,085 houses affected, including 966 partially damaged and 89 totally destroyed.

As of 8 a.m. Monday, state weather forecasters said Typhoon Uwan is now moving away from the Philippine landmass, though its broad circulation continues to bring adverse conditions to many areas in Luzon and parts of northwestern Visayas.
