An estimated ₱500,000 was stolen by riding-in-tandem suspects during a robbery hold-up in Jones, Isabela on July 13, 2025, at around 2:45 p.m.
Isabela Police Provincial Office spokesperson PCapt. Terrence Tomas confirmed the incident in an interview with Bombo Radyo Cauayan.
While a wing van was unloading goods at a store, one of the suspects climbed onto the vehicle and held collector alias Rey at gunpoint.
The suspect escaped with a bag containing the money and fled toward Barangay Pangal Sur in Echague, Isabela.
Responding officers from Jones Police Station immediately issued a flash alarm to nearby stations including Echague, San Agustin, San Isidro, and Quirino PPO units for coordinated checkpoints and entrapment operations.
CCTV footage helped identify one of the suspects, matching a profile in the police rouge gallery.
Authorities continue to investigate and gather additional evidence to build a case against the identified suspect.
Police believe the Jones incident may be linked to previous robbery cases in Echague and Angadanan, with matching descriptions of the motorcycle used.
A suspect from the group operating in Southern Isabela was earlier arrested by Alicia Police Station and found to have a standing robbery warrant in Santiago City.
Other members reportedly escaped during the Apanay operation in Alicia, according to initial police reports.
PNP intelligence revealed the group’s modus operandi involves monitoring individuals handling large sums of money before executing theft.
Due to continued robberies in Southern Isabela, police urge public cooperation and advise caution, such as avoiding visible valuables and employing security escorts for money collectors.
