Young Filipino racer Iñigo Anton becomes Double F4 Rookie Winner in Malaysia

Young Filipino racer Iñigo Anton became a Double F4 Rookie Winner in the Formula 4 Australian Championship held in Sepang, Malaysia.

Anton was the only Filipino racer in the said competition.

Although the young racer struggled in the first round, he managed to finish seventh and received the award as the Best Rookie Racer.

Entering the second round, he finished in fifth place and was the fastest among the rookies, making him achieve back-to-back P1 placements in the rookie class.

In an exclusive interview with Star FM Manila, the 20-year-old student-athlete from Baguio City shared that he is deeply focused on every competition he participates in and he always wishes to represent the Philippines.

“For me, going in to any competition, especially internationally, I know that it’s going to be very difficult and sometimes, I try to keep my expectations low. But you know, I always constantly push myself. As much as possible, I try to stay focused and keep motivating myself that I can do it,” Iñigo says.

Anton’s next target is to participate in Formula 1 which is one of the most prestigious races in the world.

Anton is the youngest Philippine national champion in slalom autocross racing.
