A woman was killed, while two others sustained injuries after a truck loaded with sugarcane reversed into a kuliglig at Gucab Bridge, Echague, Isabela.

According to Bombo Radyo Cauayan, initial investigations revealed that the truck, driven by Bernardino Suyat, was ascending an inclined road, followed by an SUV, a van, and a kuliglig.

The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle and stepped on the brakes, but they failed, causing the truck to roll backward.

While the SUV and van managed to swerve away, the kuliglig carrying Maymay Dumon, Joshua Paculdar, and Jacinto Giu was unable to avoid the oncoming truck.

Seeing the truck rolling backward, the passengers of the kuliglig jumped off, but Maymay Dumon was run over, resulting in her death, while the two others sustained injuries.

Reports indicate that the kuliglig passengers were on their way home after delivering products when the accident occurred.
