Woman Dies, Three Hurt in Tricycle-Truck Crash

A woman lost her life while three others sustained injuries after a forward truck collided with a tricycle in Barangay Mabantad, Cauayan City, Isabela.

The victims were on their way home to Barangay Manaoag, Cauayan City, when their tricycle was struck by a forward truck along a curved section of the road in Barangay Mabantad.

According to authorities, the tricycle was heading towards the Forest Region, while the forward truck was en route to Poblacion.

Upon reaching a curved portion of the road, the forward truck encroached on the tricycle’s lane, leading to the collision.

Police investigations revealed that the tricycle driver attempted to swerve and avoid the crash, but the truck still hit the left side of the vehicle.

All three tricycle passengers, along with the driver, sustained injuries and were immediately rushed to the hospital.

Unfortunately, the woman (whose name was withheld) was declared dead on arrival, while the other two passengers and the driver remain under medical care.

The forward truck driver was taken to the Cauayan City Police Station and is set to face charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, multiple physical injuries, and damage to property.

Meanwhile, attempts to obtain a statement from the truck driver were unsuccessful, as he declined to comment on the incident.
