Woman Attacked Over Loud Videoke, Suspect at Large

A woman was struck unconscious after confronting a suspect over the loud volume of a videoke in Sitio Uno, Brgy. 37, Calayab, Laoag City.

The victim, a 47-year-old business owner and unmarried, was identified, as was the suspect, who is of the same age, unmarried, and also a resident of the same area.

According to the Laoag City Police Station, around 1 AM on October 10, the victim approached the residence where videoke was being played to ask the suspect to lower the volume as it was disturbing the neighbors.

This angered the suspect, who confronted the victim, leading to a heated altercation between the two.

The suspect initially left but returned with a hard object, which he used to hit the victim multiple times.

Two witnesses saw the attack, and the victim was immediately rushed to Laoag City General Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained on various parts of her body.

However, the victim was later transferred to Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in Batac City for further treatment.

Meanwhile, authorities are still searching for the suspect, who fled the scene after the incident
