Undocumented Chinese Nationals Arrested in Moalboal POGO Raid

PROVINCE OF CEBU – Police authorities detained 38 undocumented Chinese nationals in Moalboal, Cebu.

The operation took place after Cebu police raided another illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) in the area.

This time, the raid occurred at a popular diving destination in Barangay Saavedra, Moalboal, on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.

Reports indicated suspicious activities at a rental establishment in the town.

As a result, the Police Regional Office-7 (PRO-7), in coordination with the Moalboal Office of the Building Officials, Municipal Planning Development Office, Municipal Order Peace Council, Business Permit and Licensing Office, and the Bureau of Fire Protection, conducted an inspection.

In an interview with Bombo Newsteam, Police Captain Brigido J. Paca II, Officer-in-Charge of Moalboal Police Station, confirmed that 38 undocumented Chinese nationals were found involved in suspected POGO activities.

As of this report, the arrested foreigners are being held at a resort in the same barangay while further investigations continue.
