Typhoon Uwan (international name Fung-Wong) has weakened further as it moved away from landmass toward the West Philippine Sea in a west-northwest direction.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the typhoon’s center was last spotted 135 kilometers west-northwest of Bacnotan, La Union.
Uwan now packs maximum sustained winds of 130 km/h near the center, with gusts reaching up to 160 km/h, while moving at 20 km/h.
Strong winds from the typhoon extend outward up to 850 kilometers from its center, affecting large portions of Luzon and parts of the Visayas.

Signal No. 1: Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon including Polillo Islands, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro including Lubang Island, Marinduque, Romblon, northern Palawan including Calamian and Cuyo Islands, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, northern and western Masbate including Burias and Ticao Islands, Aklan, Capiz, and northern and central Antique including Caluya Islands.
PAGASA warned that despite weakening, Uwan continues to pose threats of heavy rainfall, flooding, landslides, and storm surges in affected areas. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and follow advisories from local disaster officials.
