A total of ₱344 million in damages to the agriculture and infrastructure sectors in Rizal province has been recorded due to the onslaught of Typhoon Enteng.
According to data released by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO), infrastructure sustained ₱314 million in damage, while the agricultural sector suffered losses amounting to ₱30 million.
It was reported that 33,480 individuals or 10,313 families were evacuated at the height of the typhoon and are currently staying in evacuation centers. The PDRRMO also reported that 452 homes were destroyed, and 717 farmers were affected by the flooding.
Twelve fatalities were recorded, while three individuals remain missing.
Relief efforts by the local government of Rizal continue to provide assistance to those affected by the calamity.
Meanwhile, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) reported that approximately ₱139 million worth of infrastructure damages were caused by Typhoon Enteng across five regions in Luzon and Visayas.
DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan stated that roads, bridges, and flood control projects were damaged, with ₱84.39 million in road damages, ₱12.42 million in bridges, and ₱42.75 million in flood control structures.
The Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) recorded the highest damage at ₱49.43 million, followed by Region 2 with ₱9.85 million, Region 5 with ₱34.85 million, Region 6 with ₱25.78 million, and Region 8 with ₱23.65 million.
Some of the damaged structures have already been restored to normal operations, while others may take months to fully repair.
