Construction Worker Falls to Death While Welding in Burgos

LAOAG CITY – A construction worker died after falling during a welding job at a construction site, specifically at the covered court in Barangay Bobon, Burgos.

The victim was identified as Rolly Sicgat, 43, married, a construction worker, and a resident of Barangay Barbaquezo, Carasi.

According to the investigation by the Philippine National Police in Burgos, the victim was working on steel trusses approximately 7 meters high while performing welding tasks.

It was revealed that Sicgat was not wearing a harness or hard hat when he lost his balance and fell.

As a result, he suffered severe head injuries, leading to his immediate death.

Meanwhile, foreman Ramon Honrada had reportedly warned the victim to wear safety equipment, but Sicgat allegedly refused to comply.
