Typhoon Enteng Intensifies, More Areas Under Signal Number 2

Typhoon “Enteng” has intensified as it traverses the waters near Bagamanoc, Catanduanes. The storm now carries winds of 65 to 80 kilometers per hour and is moving southward across the country.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has raised Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 in the following areas: Caramoan in Camarines Sur; towns in Catanduanes including Virac, San Andres, Pandan, Bato, Gigmoto, Bagamanoc, Panganiban, San Miguel, Viga, Baras, Caramoran; and the towns of Palanan, Divilacan, Dinapigue in Isabela.

Signal No. 1 remains in place for towns in Cagayan such as Baggao, Pe, Lal-Lo, Gattaran, Buguey, Santa Teresita, Gonzaga, Santa Ana, Aparri, Camalaniugan, Alcala, Amulung, Iguig, Tuguegarao City, Enrile, Solana, including the Babuyan Islands.

The following towns in Isabela also remain under Signal No. 1: San Agustin, San Guillermo, Jones, Echague, San Mariano, Maconacon, San Pablo, Cabagan, Tumauini, Ilagan City, Santa Maria, Santo Tomas, Delfin Albano, Quirino, Gamu, Benito Soliven, Naguilian, City of Cauayan, Angadanan, Reina Mercedes, Luna, Burgos.

Signal No. 1 is also raised in Quirino (Nagtipunan, Maddela, Aglipay, Saguday), Nueva Vizcaya (Alfonso Castaneda), Aurora, the northern and southern portions of Quezon (Tagkawayan, Guinayangan, Buenavista, San Narciso, Mulanay, San Andres, San Francisco, Lopez, Calauag, Catanauan, Gumaca, Macalelon, General Luna, Quezon, Alabat, Perez, General Nakar, Infanta, Real, Mauban, Unisan, Pitogo, Padre Burgos, Atimonan, Agdangan, Plaridel), including the Polillo Islands, Camarines Norte, the rest of Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, and Masbate including Ticao and Burias Islands.

In addition, Northern Samar, Samar, Eastern Samar, Biliran, and the northeastern portion of Leyte (Babatngon, San Miguel, Tacloban City, Alangalang, Santa Fe, Palo, Barugo) are also under Signal No. 1.

PAGASA has warned of heavy rainfall due to the typhoon and advised residents near rivers to evacuate and for fishermen to avoid sailing.
