Two minors lost their lives, and one remains in critical condition following a collision between a motorcycle and an SUV in Oscaris, Ramon, Isabela.
According to Ramon Police Chief PMaj. Fernando Mallillin, the incident involved a black Honda XRM 125 motorcycle carrying the minors, a Ford Expedition driven by Dindo Beronilla, a funeral home employee from Burgos, Isabela, and a parked Isuzu Elf truck.
Two of the minors have been identified as residents of Alfonso Lista, Ifugao, while one remains unidentified.
Police investigations revealed that the motorcycle was traveling along the national highway toward San Mateo, Isabela, while the SUV was heading to Santiago City.
The collision occurred when the motorcycle turned into a roadside eatery, leading to a violent impact with the SUV.
The force of the crash threw the three motorcycle passengers off their vehicle, causing severe injuries that resulted in the deaths of two minors and left the third critically injured.
Grieving father Rolly Calugay mourns the loss of his youngest child, who died in the accident on what was meant to be a birthday celebration.
Calugay shared that his son often used the motorcycle for school and was shocked to hear about the tragedy, as the boy had not returned home the previous night.
