Two Chinese Nationals Arrested for Allegedly Shooting Filipino in Makati City

Authorities arrested two Chinese nationals for allegedly shooting a Filipino man near a parking lot in Makati City on Wednesday night.

The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspects as Xunjun, 36, and Liquan, 44.

The shooting incident reportedly occurred near the parking area of a shopping mall in Barangay Pio del Pilar.

According to SPD, the victim—known by the alias Christopher, 40—was inside his black Toyota Fortuner and preparing to exit the lot when the suspects allegedly opened fire.

The vehicle sustained four bullet holes, but Christopher was fortunately unharmed during the attack.

SPD stated that investigators are probing the motive behind the shooting, the suspects’ immigration status, and possible links to organized crime groups.

Recovered from the scene were a caliber .40 pistol with magazine, a 9mm submachine gun with two loaded magazines, and four cartridge cases.

Other seized items included several chef knives, a tactical knife, fan knife, hammer, duct tape, double-sided tape, and a black bag.

The suspects are currently under the custody of Makati police while awaiting charges for attempted murder and violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
