Two Brothers Electrocuted While Repairing Power Lines

Two brothers tragically lost their lives after being electrocuted while repairing power lines at Caloy’s Grille on Don Pedro Yulo Street, Barangay San Pedro, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental on June 2, 2025.

The victims were identified as Dexter Grijaldo, 45, and Rollan Grijaldo, 48, both married and residents of Barangay Sto. Rosario, Binalbagan.

According to Police Executive Master Sergeant John Batadlan, Chief Investigator of the Binalbagan Municipal Police Station, the brothers were fixing electrical wiring at a local restaurant when the incident occurred.

Dexter accidentally touched an open live wire on the restaurant’s canopy, prompting Rollan to assist him, but he was also electrocuted in the process.

Both victims were rushed to the Binalbagan infirmary, but they were declared dead on arrival.

The brothers were reportedly working on the lighting system of the restaurant’s canopy when the accident happened.

Authorities are looking into a possible settlement between the victims’ families and the restaurant owner, as they are reportedly related.
