Truck Driver Under Hospital Arrest After Fatal Crash Claims Three Lives

A truck driver is under hospital arrest following a collision with a passenger van that resulted in the deaths of three people in Sitio Bulotano, Brgy. Lantay, Pangantucan, Bukidnon.

The Pangantucan Police Station is preparing charges against the driver, Bryan Benachay, of Brgy. Adtuyon in the same municipality.

Police Regional Office 10 spokesperson Major Joann Navarro stated that the suspect will be immediately detained in a jail cell upon his release from the hospital while cases are being prepared for filing with the prosecutor’s office.

The truck, loaded with sugarcane, reportedly lost its brakes while descending from Maramag towards Kalilangan, causing it to collide with the van and leading to the fatalities.

Among the deceased are the van driver, Argon Bangit, Sonia Bangit, who fell into a ravine, and a minor female.
