Former Senator Antonio Trillanes has expressed strong disapproval over former Vice President Leni Robredo’s decision to meet with current Vice President Sara Duterte.
This follows the recent visit of Duterte to Robredo’s home during the Peñafrancia Festival weekend.
While Robredo clarified that the conversation was apolitical, Trillanes did not hold back in his criticism, continuing to denounce her actions.
In a recent interview, Trillanes said Robredo should not have entertained Duterte, citing the six years of struggle the Filipino people faced under the Duterte family’s leadership.
He emphasized that this should not be easily overlooked.
Trillanes acknowledged Robredo’s courteous demeanor but maintained that there are limits to being polite, especially given the political context.
Robredo’s spokesperson, Atty. Barry Gutierrez, earlier explained that Duterte’s visit was unannounced.
However, Trillanes dismissed this explanation, claiming Robredo had a choice to either face or refuse Duterte, and described Gutierrez’s statement as a falsehood.
