Philippine National Police (PNP) public information chief Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño did not disclose the identities of those involved in the Abra shooting.

The incident happened at the Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine Group (EOD K9) barracks in Bangued on November 10.

The first victim, a staff sergeant, had filed a misconduct complaint against his lieutenant.

While brushing his teeth, the staff sergeant was shot four times by the officer.

A senior master sergeant, who heard the gunfire, rushed out of his room but was also shot by the lieutenant. The senior master sergeant retaliated, hitting the officer.

Both the staff sergeant and the lieutenant were declared dead on arrival at a nearby medical facility, while the senior master sergeant surrendered to authorities.

According to Tuaño, the staff sergeant had reported his officer for allegedly being intoxicated while on duty.

In another case, a Caloocan City police officer was killed in a shootout with responding officers after robbing a convenience store in Marilao, Bulacan, on November 11.

The suspect stole ₱20,000 in sales and fled on a motorcycle toward Barangay Loma de Gato.

During a hot pursuit, Marilao police intercepted the suspect, who allegedly drew his firearm and fired at authorities.

Police returned fire, hitting the suspect, who held the rank of captain.

He was rushed to the hospital but declared dead on arrival.

Authorities are investigating whether the suspect was linked to a syndicate allegedly involved in a series of convenience store robberies in Central Luzon.
