Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez has praised President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s “zero-billing” initiative, aimed at helping poor patients receive free medical services.

The historic healthcare program, launched on the President’s 67th birthday on September 13, provides free services at 22 public hospitals across the country.

Romualdez emphasized that this program demonstrates President Marcos’ unwavering commitment to ensuring affordable healthcare for all Filipinos.

The Department of Health (DOH) has allocated P328 million to fund the initiative, covering hospital bills, medication, and essential services such as chemotherapy, dialysis, dental care, and laboratory procedures.

The program, already in effect in key hospitals across the National Capital Region (NCR), Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, significantly reduces medical expenses for vulnerable communities.

Speaker Romualdez highlighted the life-changing impact of this initiative on low-income families and pledged his full support for the government’s efforts to expand and make healthcare more accessible to all.
