Shiela Guo Now Under Senate Custody

Senate Secretary Renato Bantug confirmed that Shiela Guo, sister of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo, is now under Senate custody.

This development follows Shiela Guo’s arrest in Indonesia. She was deported last week along with businesswoman Casandra Li Ong.

According to Bantug, the Senate’s action aligns with a previously issued warrant of arrest due to the Guo siblings’ failure to attend past investigations concerning the controversial Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO).

Upon arrival, Shiela Guo was immediately subjected to a medical examination as part of the standard operating procedure.

Shiela Guo was brought to the Senate premises by National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) personnel at around 12:00 PM.

Shiela Guo’s arrest is tied to an ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities and illegal activities associated with POGO operations.

The Senate has been probing these activities, and the Guo siblings’ non-compliance with subpoenas led to the issuance of arrest warrants.

Their apprehension in Indonesia shows the ongoing international efforts to address these issues and enforce accountability among those involved in the scandal.
