SENATOR Imee Marcos refuted claims on Friday that she is engaged in a political rift with her brother, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

“Of course, he is still my brother, and there is no conflict within our family. The real issue stems from those surrounding both sides,” the reelectionist senator stated.

Marcos also pointed out that political speculation is being fueled by individuals with vested interests in the 2028 elections.

“You know how it is—there are plenty of gossipmongers, envious people, and ambitious individuals already looking ahead to 2028. That’s still a long way off. Let’s allow Bongbong and Vice President Sara Duterte to complete their terms first. This constant infighting—I don’t like it, which is why I sometimes step away,” she added.

Despite running as an independent candidate, Senator Marcos has actively participated in the campaign rallies of the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas 2025 senatorial slate, including the kick-off event in Ilocos Norte.

President Marcos officially endorsed the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial lineup in September 2024, which includes his sister among the candidates.
