In an interview with Bombo Radyo Vigan, PLT. Reynald Ramos stated that authorities are not ruling out political motives or personal conflicts, as they probe the circumstances surrounding the killings.

Based on CCTV footage, the victims were seen leaving a cockfighting event when they were followed by the suspects on a motorcycle.

The gunmen opened fire upon catching up with the victims, fatally wounding both.

Barangay Captain Valorozo sustained gunshot wounds to the head and chest, while his son was also struck by a bullet.

Three empty shells from a .45 caliber handgun were recovered at the crime scene.

Meanwhile, Barangay Councilor Rolly Vita expressed disbelief over the brutal killing, noting that Valorozo had no known enemies.

Vita described Valorozo as a dedicated public servant, often the first to respond in emergencies, personally driving residents to the hospital when needed.

Another local, Elena Jacob, stated that while Valorozo had a few detractors, he was generally well-liked in the community.
