According to Tacloban City Police Office City Affairs & Development Unit Head, PLt.Col. Allan Camasin, the victim and his live-in partner had planned to book the apartelle in preparation for a scheduled power interruption in the city.

Investigation revealed that they booked the apartelle on the afternoon of March 14, intending to prepare for the planned power interruption on Sunday, March 16.

However, the victim checked into the apartelle ahead of his live-in partner and had already consumed alcoholic beverages before her arrival.

The victim’s live-in partner stated that they arrived at the apartelle with her children around 7:00 PM on March 14.

Upon their arrival, the victim was still drinking and had already finished two long-neck bottles of alcohol, so they booked a separate room.

The following morning, March 15, Saturday, the live-in partner called out to the victim, but he did not respond.

Upon opening the room, they found the victim lying face down on his bed, lifeless.

The examination results indicated that intoxication was the cause of death.
