Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued a stern warning, stating that removing NATO restrictions on Ukraine’s use of long-range Western missiles to strike Russia would be considered an “act of war.”

Putin emphasized that such a move would signal that NATO, including the US and European countries, is directly at war with Russia.

If this happens, Moscow would take appropriate measures in response to the threats against them.

The Russian leader made the statement following indications that the US and NATO allied partners are open to the possibility of allowing Ukrainian forces to use long-range weapon systems from the West to target military assets in Russia.

This comes as the Russia-Ukraine war enters its second year.
