The Presidential Museum located within The Mansion House, the official residence of the President of the Philippines in Baguio City, is now open to the public starting today. The decision to open it as a tourist attraction was made by First Lady Liza Marcos, as the mansion was rarely being used.

The opening ceremony of the Presidential Museum was led by the First Lady herself. According to Palace Social Secretary Bianca Zobel, the goal is to showcase the Malacañang heritage mansion to the people of Northern Luzon, giving the public access to its historical significance.

The museum will be open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but it will be closed on Mondays. Zobel noted that they observed between 500 to 2,000 tourists visiting the area, prompting the decision to open it to the public.

Tours can be booked through their official Facebook, Instagram accounts, or website. Visitors are encouraged to schedule an appointment in advance due to rules and policies in place. Each tour will be limited to 30 minutes to help preserve the artifacts displayed inside.

Erick Zerrudo, a historian, shared that The Mansion was established during the American period in the early 1900s. He also mentioned that not all Presidents of the Philippines lived in The Mansion, as it was primarily built for official purposes.
