Itinakbo sa pagamutan si Pope Francis matapos na makaranas ito ng bronchitis.

Ayon sa Vatican agad na ipinasok siya sa Agostino Gemelli Polyclinic matapos ang kaniyang pagharap sa mga tao nitong umaga ng Biyernes.

Ilang araw aniya na nakakaranas ng sintomas ng bronchitis kung saan ipinapasa na nito ang pagbabasa ng kaniyang mensahe sa mga misa niya.

Magugunitang noont Marso 2023 ay dinala na rin sa pagamutan ang 88-anyos na Santo Papa para ipagamot ang kaniyang bronchitis.

Noong Disyembre rin ng 2023 ay napilitang kanselahin ng Santo Papa ang kaniyang biyahe sa United Arab Emirates para sa COP28 climate summit dahil sa pagkakasakit.
