A police lieutenant colonel surrendered and admitted to the brutal killing of a fellow officer inside Camp Bagong Diwa, the headquarters of the NCRPO.
The suspect, identified as Lieutenant Colonel Roderick Pascua, confessed to killing Police Executive Master Sergeant Emmanuel De Asis.
De Asis was assigned to the Puerto Princesa Police Provincial Office in Palawan.
According to initial reports, Pascua shot De Asis after catching him in an “intimate” situation with his wife on November 28 in their apartment within the camp.
Pascua’s wife, also a police officer with the rank of executive master sergeant, was reportedly present during the shooting.
The suspect admitted to ordering his wife to fetch a hacksaw, which he used to dismember De Asis’ body.
The remains were placed in sacks and buried at Pascua’s ancestral house in Baguio City.
On December 4, investigators accompanied Pascua to the burial site, where they exhumed human remains, two white shirts, and a wooden chopping board.
The dismembered body parts were turned over to a funeral service in Baguio City.
The victim’s family alleged the crime was premeditated, claiming the plot had been planned since March 2024.
In a statement, the victim’s son described the crime as a “setup” that led to his father’s abduction, torture, and killing.
Authorities have turned the case over to the Southern Police District and the Taguig City Police Station for further investigation.
