GENERAL SANTOS CITY – Effective October 6, PNP Chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil relieved two officials from the Police Regional Office (PRO) 12 following a sex controversy.
The incident allegedly involved a police colonel and a female police recruit inside the firing range of the PRO 12 headquarters in Barangay Tambler, General Santos City.
According to information obtained by Bombo Radyo, the two police officials have been reassigned to the Police Holding and Accounting Unit under the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management at Camp Crame.
This indicates that both officers are now on “floating status.”
Earlier, PNP Directorate for Intelligence head Maj. Gen. Sydney Hernia instructed OIC PRO 12 Director Brig. Gen. James Gulmatico to submit a report on the case through the Regional Intelligence Office (R2).
The controversy involves a police recruit who was reportedly harassed by an officer and then transferred to a distant assignment, allegedly to prevent her from filing a complaint.
The Intelligence Office reportedly failed to investigate the incident, which led to their inclusion in the PNP Chief’s relief order.
Bombo Radyo News approached PRO 12 spokesperson Police Major Rissa Hernaez, who denied the spreading allegations, claiming that the reports were merely accusations.
