Philippine Air Force fighter jet missing during operation

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Air Force (PAF) confirmed that an FA-50 fighter jet disappeared during a tactical night operation shortly after midnight on Tuesday, March 4.

PAF spokesperson Colonel Maria Consuelo Castillo stated that the aircraft lost communication with its flight group minutes before reaching the target area.

Efforts to re-establish contact continued until the other aircraft involved in the mission returned to Mactan, Cebu.

“The PAF is conducting an extensive and thorough search operation, utilizing all available resources to locate the missing jet. Our primary concern is the safe return of our aircrew. We remain hopeful and ask for prayers during this critical time,” Castillo said in a statement on March 4.

As of now, no further details about the missing fighter jet have been released.
